 The University of Fine Arts that I had dreamed of The Government College of Fine Arts was established in 1893 to incorporate art into the syllabus of the Ceylon Technical College. After the construction of permanent buildings in 1902, the number of students gradually increased. It was further developed and in 1933 the institute produced art teachers, artists, teachers of various arts and crafts, and artists required for service in the arts sector. Among the artists who contributed to the development of the institute was the late J.P. D.A. Mr. Perera, the late Lionel Edirisinghe who made a great contribution to the field of music and Shri. My favourite place My favourite place is Sri Dalada Maligawa. Sri Dalada Maligawa is the Temple of the Tooth where the left tooth relic of the Supreme Buddha is now housed. The present Temple of the Tooth is located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. During the Kandyan period. it was located in the then existing royal palace complex. The Temple of the Tooth was first built by King Wimaladharmasuriya I . The Temple of the Tooth built by him was destroyed by the Portuguese invaders.The present two storied dwelling palace was built by King Sri Weeraparakrama Narendrasinghe. Later, even the Nayakkar dynasty of Tamil kings improved and protected the Temple of the Tooth. The city of Kandy, where the Temple of the Tooth is located, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.The monks of both Malwathu and Asgiriya offer offerings to the Tooth Relic daily.  Father of Free Education Dr. Christopher William Wijekoon Kannaggara (October 13, 1884 - September 23, 1969) was the first Minister of Education in the United Kingdom. Named the "Father of Free Education". He was a lawyer by profession.
